Over the past few months I’ve been terribly annoyed about people confusing the meaning of “Web 2.0″. It’s not about the look, it’s about the function. Now, I’ve got something to confuse them even more.

“Web 1.0″ was all about reading data, “Web 2.0″ is about reading and writing data, and “Web 3.0″ will be about reading, writing, and executing data. Wikipedia has a great entry on what “Web 3.0″ might be. The possibilities are quite exciting and will take marketing campaigns and consumer engagement to the next level.

So get excited folks, the Web will continue to be an exciting place!
