No, not with online stores and apps like you would think, but to track how many of their customers are actually going to certain stores, and what their shopping patterns are.

This may seem a tad invasive that your cell phone is being tracked, but they will assure visitors that no personal information is being collected, simply when and where you shop! We think it’s a smart way to mix cellphone technology and marketing.
