SEO – Tying it all together

A lot of companies are spending more and more money on SEO, in an attempt to drive more traffic toward their sites, and ultimately driving more sales. I guess the question everyone is asking is how do I do this too, and how much will it cost? Surprisingly there are a lot of little changes you can make that are extremely cheap, and can have a large marginal impact on your site.
I recently wrote an article on “blogging for SEO”, which described how a blog is a quick way to add keyword rich content to your site in order to promote searchibility of your site. Well, in addition to adding a blog there are also many other types of content you can tie to your site to increase its searchibility.
Adding your business to Google Maps, Youtube, Wikipedia, and many other popular web services can greatly increase traffic that drives towards your website. For example, a retailer with 50+ store locations can set up all of their location in Google Maps, and then any time someone types in a keyword in Google Maps, their map comes up, which is linked to the main website. All of the content being tied together makes for really strong searchibility, and is relatively cheap to set up.
If you are not already driving traffic to your site using popular web services, give it a try. You will see excellent gains with minimal effort and cost.
