Swine Flu Spammers, What We can Learn

Those nasty spammers are at it again. This time, they are trying to capitalize on the swine flu “pandemic”.

So how do they get results? Well, first of all, very, very large lists. Second they are doing something all email marketers can learn from. They use excellent subject lines that catch people’s attention such as “Madonna caught swine flu!,” “US swine flu statistics,” and “Swine flu in USA.”

Your subject lines are the gateway to your email. With floods of email hitting your customers’ inboxes you need to stand out. Your subject line requires thought, it needs to be short and to the point. Next email you send make sure you take the time to think about the subject line.
